I took my little one here for a dental visit, and I’ll admit—I was a bit embarrassed because her teeth were in terrible shape due to past neglect. But both vets and staff were incredibly kind and nonjudgmental. They took the time to explain everything clearly and compassionately. They recommended full dental surgery and were completely transparent about the cost. They even got her scheduled for the procedure the following week. During the surgery, the vet personally called to update me and followed up with a text just like I asked. When I picked her up, they sat down with me and walked through every single x-ray. I’ve never had that level of care or communication at any other vet—truly above and beyond. 10/10! I only wish I had found this place sooner. I’ll be bringing my cats in next (they’re total monsters), but I know they’ll be in the best hands. Thank you Grand Avenue Veterinary Hospital! I truly appreciate each and every one of you!

We started seeing them after a dog attached (post emergency vet) and everyone was SO kind and incredibly patient and gentle with our corgi, Winnie. They are accommodating with their appointments, and they always seem happy to see Winnie’s chubby corgi self coming in. They have gone above and beyond all expectations for a vet, and we are officially solid patients with no interest of going anywhere else. They are transparent about the costs, and if you can’t afford all of it, they offer other options (such as ordering online, etc.) and are very helpful. We have only been going for a short time, but a lot of appointments in that time, and they are truly wonderful.

This was the second vet we tried in Des Moines and I’m so glad we found them. They have been attentive, transparent, and genuinely care about my pet’s well-being. Dr Emily has been amazing and answers any questions you have. The male cat neuter procedure was less than half the price another local vet was going to charge us. You and your pets will be well taken care of here!

We’ve been going here for years. Recently our dog was sick, they saw her right away, diagnosed the problem, and prescribed medicine. She got better quickly. Grand Avenue Vet also called a few days later to see how she was. Awesome service!!
